Tutor students one-on-one through UPchieve’s virtual classroom using text-based chat and a shared whiteboard
Get certified in three or more UPchieve subjects
Provide academic support in math, science, reading and writing, English, social studies and history, and college preparation
Complete tutor training and apply feedback to provide encouraging, student-centered support
Represent Liberty University in an exemplary manner and follow University policies
Work effectively as a team member within Liberty University’s Christian model and mission

Requirements

What you’ll need

Enrolled in a degree-seeking program at Liberty University
Federal Work Study eligibility
5 to 10 hours of work availability per week
Must pass various background checks, including initial and subsequent checks
Must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan
Must not have disqualifying convictions, guilty pleas, or findings involving government funds
Ability to adhere to federal, state, and institutional policies, confidentiality, and recordkeeping requirements
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
Ability to learn technology quickly
Ability to work under pressure, follow written instructions, and take initiative
Self-discipline and good time management skills
Computer with a strong internet connection
At least a second-year student at Liberty University preferred
Good standing with no reprimands or suspensions preferred
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
No prior tutoring experience required
