About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Record monthly journal entries
  • Record payroll and related accruals
  • Prepare and review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and performance indicators
  • Analyze variances between the budget, forecasts, and actual results
  • Analyze margins by project and client
  • Collaborate with IT resources to optimize the ERP system and financial tools
  • Develop and optimize financial and operational performance-tracking tools
  • Contribute to the optimization and automation of business processes
  • Prepare and file tax returns
  • Process tax payments and instalment payments
  • Prepare documentation for external audits
  • Respond to auditors’ requests
  • Strengthen internal controls and accounting compliance
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Support operational teams with financial planning
  • Report directly to the CFO

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CPA designation (required)
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting or controllership experience
  • Strong experience with the full accounting cycle and month-end close
  • Experience in a consulting firm or professional services organization is an asset
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigor
  • Team-oriented, autonomous, and proactive
