About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as the strategic thought partner for cross-functional teams including PMs, engineers, marketing, and finance
Understand roadmaps and users, identify gaps between data and team assumptions
Present clear narratives and points of view to leadership and working teams
Establish causality using A/B testing, analytics, and causal inference
Work with engineering on event instrumentation and with Product to translate insights into action
Develop and implement metrics strategies based on users’ product experience and business needs
Build explanations connecting user behavior to user motivations
Use coding agents and automated analysis daily to multiply impact
Help shape Life360’s AI-native analytics stack and transition from reactive to proactive to autonomous analytics
Report to the Data & Analytics leadership team and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and ML engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years in an analytics, data science, or decision science role at a consumer tech company
Advanced degree in a quantitative field (economics, statistics, quantitative social science, operations research) or equivalent practical experience
Demonstrated experience with causal inference methods in applied settings, including difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, regression discontinuity, synthetic controls, and propensity score matching
Track record of influencing product or business strategy through data, with specific examples of cross-functional impact
Experience with experimentation platforms such as Statsig, Optimizely, or similar
Proficiency in SQL and Python/R for statistical analysis
Problem-solving mindset: structure ambiguous problems precisely before reaching for a tool, AI or otherwise
Ownership mentality from framing the question through delivering the recommendation and tracking its impact
AI-native working style using AI tooling such as Claude Code or equivalent as a genuine development partner
Curiosity and initiative about whether the product makes people’s lives meaningfully better
