About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, develop and inspire the FP&A team
  • Set goals, coach team members and foster collaboration, service orientation and continuous learning
  • Steer annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning in line with the MAPP process and funding strategy
  • Provide financial insights supporting strategic objectives, long-term financial sustainability and programmatic impact
  • Partner with the International Director Finance & Operations, IMT and National Members on scenario planning, resource allocation and risk management
  • Deliver management reports for senior leadership, the FAIR Committee, the Board and National Members
  • Analyse organisational performance, funding trends and cost structures to identify efficiencies and opportunities
  • Monitor liquidity, reserves and unrestricted funding positions
  • Advise senior and country leadership by translating financial data into actionable insights
  • Collaborate with Operations, People & Culture and Programme teams to strengthen budget ownership and accountability
  • Strengthen planning systems, tools and reporting frameworks
  • Drive process improvements in budgeting, forecasting and analysis across the confederation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management, ideally leading FP&A or similar functions in an iNGO or complex international organisation
  • Proven experience with multi-currency, multi-country budgeting and financial consolidation
  • Solid understanding of the iNGO environment, including restricted and unrestricted funding
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, ideally managing teams across regions or time zones
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in FP&A systems such as Adaptive Insights, Power BI or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed, multicultural and dynamic environment
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented and committed to continuous improvement and impact
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Commitment to the mission, values and ethical standards of Light for the World
  • Must already hold a valid work permit or visa for the country of intended work
