About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own architecture and technical roadmap for the Converse expansion across real-time translation services and customer-facing surfaces
Architect and build low-latency, N-way translation pipelines with audio ingestion, diarization, streaming ASR, MT orchestration, and multilingual result fan-out
Build live meeting experiences with bot/agent participants, side panels, and on-stage captions using meeting-platform SDKs and APIs
Build an interpreter workbench with live segment queues, low-confidence flagging, TM/TB matches, AI-Review/AI-QA signals, and broadcast corrections
Design event-driven correction and broadcast systems routing flagged segments to interpreters and isolating corrections by language
Partner with Product and Design to turn PRDs into technical designs and deliver a new product surface
Extend shared translation-service architecture to multi-device and platform form factors
Establish testing, CI/CD, and release practices using GitHub Actions and automated end-to-end tests
Recruit, mentor, and set engineering standards as the team scales

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience
Track record of owning complex, real-time or streaming systems end-to-end, including architecture, implementation, deployment, and production reliability
Strong backend experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, gRPC or comparable low-latency transport, event-driven architectures, message routing, and concurrent-session state management
Strong frontend experience building complex, stateful, real-time UIs in React/TypeScript
Experience integrating third-party platform SDKs or extension frameworks, including bots, side panels, webhooks, and platform APIs
Experience with or direct adjacency to ASR/MT/NLP pipelines or latency-sensitive ML-in-the-loop systems
Ability to scope ambiguous 0-to-1 product requirements into technical plans and meet delivery dates
Experience building validation and guard logic for diverse customer configurations
US citizenship and residence in the United States
Strong plus: speech/audio pipelines, CAT tools, translation memory/termbase systems, localization/TMS workflows, cross-platform or mobile-adjacent architectures, regulated or high-security environments
Bonus: Microsoft Teams app or bot development, mentoring engineers, setting technical standards, and post-meeting asset generation
