About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and implement priorities, manage performance, share expertise, and develop talent through hiring, training, feedback, and stretch opportunities
- Manage a team of early to mid-career professionals with accountability for operational performance and results
- Lead monthly statutory close activities for derivative investments
- Manage preparation and review of statutory reporting schedules, disclosures, and related analyses in accordance with NAIC and regulatory requirements
- Oversee statutory hedge accounting activities, including documentation, reporting requirements, and accounting treatment for designated hedging relationships
- Supervise accounting professionals by assigning work, monitoring performance, providing technical guidance, and supporting employee development
- Review complex accounting entries, reconciliations, and reporting outputs; investigate, resolve, and document issues
- Provide internal and external stakeholders guidance on statutory accounting requirements, reporting obligations, and accounting impacts of derivative transactions
- Lead process improvements and project activities to improve efficiency, accuracy, controls, and reporting quality
- Oversee statutory and SOX controls and maintain audit-ready documentation
- Partner with Treasury, Middle Office, Reinsurance, Accounting Policy, and Financial Reporting teams
- Support system implementations, testing efforts, and process changes by coordinating activities, validating outputs, and addressing business requirements and controls
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ Years experience derivative accounting, finance, or other activities with specific responsibilities for this position
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Ability to be innovative and an aptitude to drive and accept change
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical skills and close attention to detail is necessary
- Ability to adapt quickly in a changing work environment
