About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up the production area by reading sketches and designs to determine the configuration of parts
  • Modify or create programs as needed
  • Operate CNC machines including saws, brakes, panel masters, angle masters, and other machinery
  • Punch, cut, shape, bend, and plasma cut different kinds of metal
  • Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine part dimensions and configuration
  • Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures
  • Outline the sequence of operations required to machine parts
  • Maintain industrial production and processing machinery by cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts
  • Revise programs to eliminate instruction errors or omissions
  • Follow safety rules and report hazards, violations, or injuries to the Team Leader
  • Operate safety equipment and maintain good housekeeping practices
  • Work overtime and weekends as required to meet customer needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Read a tape measure both in metric and standard
  • Must be able to use calipers
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, preferred
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, and ear plugs
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
  • Both Spanish and English-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply
