About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and repairs on electric forklifts and other powered material handling equipment
  • Diagnose complex issues involving electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, steering, braking, and electronic control systems
  • Coordinate and prioritize service requests based on safety, equipment criticality, operational impact, and workload
  • Determine whether work should be completed in-house, assigned to a Level I technician, or referred to an external vendor or the manufacturer
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and ensure work is completed within required timelines
  • Verify work quality, analyze recurring failures, and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and hands-on training to less experienced technicians
  • Contribute to the development of troubleshooting standards, preventive maintenance practices, CMMS processes, parts management strategy, and maintenance procedures
  • Inspect, diagnose, and support repairs of lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, chargers, and related components
  • Document inspections, repairs, labor hours, parts used, and equipment status in the CMMS
  • Coordinate external vendors and verify the quality and completion of their work
  • Respond to emergency service calls during on-call periods
  • Participate in the maintenance of other warehouse equipment as the program expands
  • Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), battery-handling requirements, and site-specific practices
  • Act as the primary technical resource and on-site team lead for Lineage’s new in-house MHE maintenance program

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Several years of relevant hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience; 3 or more years preferred
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills with mechanical systems and experience in at least one of the following areas: electrical/electronic systems and controls, hydraulic systems, or mobile equipment
  • Experience with MHE/forklift maintenance, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, electromechanics, automotive diagnostics, mobile equipment repair, or a comparable technical field
  • Ability to methodically diagnose equipment issues, use technical documentation, and determine when additional intervention or expertise is required
  • Comfortable using multimeters, diagnostic tools, service manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer technical resources
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple service requests from different sites
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with operations teams, vendors, and managers
  • Ability and willingness to support less experienced technicians and contribute to establishing consistent maintenance practices
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek technical support or vendor assistance
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated or temperature-controlled warehouse environments, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and company-provided freezer-appropriate clothing
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license in Quebec
  • Direct experience maintaining electric forklifts or other powered material handling equipment is an asset, but not required
  • Training or certification in industrial mechanics, electromechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, or a related field is an asset, but not required
