About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the Data Engineering team across multiple countries and time zones
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, development plans, and workload
- Own delivery of the Data Engineering roadmap, including Microsoft Fabric warehouse migration, CI/CD program, and Salesforce Revenue Cloud go-live data readiness
- Oversee reliability, availability, security, and cost of data pipelines and warehouse
- Maintain documented ownership for production feeds and pipelines and assign cross-training
- Partner with architecture and Business Intelligence leadership on engineering standards, source control, deployment practices, and governance
- Manage centralized intake for reporting and data requests across departments
- Maintain a prioritized Business Intelligence and Data Engineering backlog and communicate trade-off decisions
- Own handoffs between Business Intelligence and Data Engineering and publish delivery status, cycle times, and request queues
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies for both teams and remove impediments
- Maintain Azure DevOps configuration, templates, and team wiki
- Track and publish board health measures and delivery metrics
- Represent the data function in enterprise project routing and alignment meetings
- Report priorities, progress, risks, capacity, cycle time, defect rate, queue length, and declined requests to the Director
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5–7 years of experience in data engineering, data platform or analytics delivery, with cloud data platforms and data warehouse development
- 2–4 years leading or managing technical teams, including performance management of direct reports
- 2 or more years in a product owner, product manager, scrum master, or delivery lead role for a data, analytics or internal-tools team, owning intake, a backlog and prioritization with business stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience introducing or maturing an Agile operating model on an existing team and organizing work in Azure DevOps or equivalent tool
- Professional Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master or equivalent certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience with Salesforce data (Litify, Service Cloud, or Revenue Cloud) as a source
- Experience managing distributed teams across time zones
- Experience in legal services, professional services, or another regulated industry required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Python, SQL, REST APIs, source control and CI/CD, and modern data warehouse and ELT practice
- Hands-on Agile delivery experience, including facilitating ceremonies, running a backlog, and using Azure DevOps or Jira to manage sprints, flow metrics and boards
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban
- Ability to write a clear user story, acceptance criteria and a one-page status update
- Availability Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM EST
