About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply updates to WordPress hosting, CMS core, plugins, themes, and server-side components
  • Monitor websites for vulnerabilities, malware, and security advisories and remediate issues
  • Administer WordPress and other CMS platforms, including users, roles, plugins, and themes
  • Troubleshoot site errors, plugin conflicts, and broken functionality
  • Manage and verify backups and maintain restore and rollback procedures
  • Test changes in staging environments before promoting them to production
  • Manage domain registrations, renewals, and transfers
  • Configure and troubleshoot DNS records, including A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  • Diagnose DNS propagation issues with registrars and hosts
  • Manage SSL/TLS certificate issuance, renewal, and installation
  • Harden hosting environments using access controls, file permissions, and WAF/security rules
  • Support and troubleshoot third-party integrations, including web forms, CRM, marketing tools, chat, lead generation, analytics, and webhooks/APIs
  • Configure and maintain analytics and tracking using GA4, Search Console, and tag management
  • Produce recurring traffic and performance reports and flag anomalies
  • Serve as the primary contact for website-related requests through the ticketing system
  • Maintain documentation and runbooks and escalate complex issues appropriately
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and nontechnical stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in web support, web administration, or web operations
  • Previous experience with WordPress administration, including core/plugin/theme updates, configuration, and security
  • Demonstrated DNS and domain-management fundamentals
  • Familiarity with SSL/TLS, backups, and web security best practices
  • Basic HTML/CSS and strong general troubleshooting skills
  • Clear technical communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Ability to manage a ticket queue independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment
  • Working knowledge of web hosting environments, including managed hosting, cPanel/Plesk, and basic Linux
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 and Search Console
  • Modern computer equipment meeting the specified Windows 11 or macOS requirements
  • At least 8 GB of RAM
  • Fast hard drive with sufficient available storage
  • Experience with CDN/WAF (e.g., Cloudflare) and security plugins (Wordfence, Sucuri) is a plus
  • Experience with Google AdSense is a plus
