About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs across multiple school locations, including HVAC filter changes, basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, playground equipment, fencing, and landscaping
- Respond to facility service requests, urgent issues, and emergencies
- Conduct routine safety, health, and building condition checks
- Identify and address potential issues proactively
- Maintain Property Condition Reports, work orders, and documentation using company-approved systems
- Communicate with school leadership regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations
- Support small capital projects, improvements, and seasonal preparation
- Build relationships with school leadership, vendors, and internal teams
- Maintain safe, code-compliant, licensing-ready schools and outdoor areas
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass required background and fingerprint checks
- Basic proficiency using smartphones, tablets, or laptops for work orders and communication
- Regional travel between assigned school locations required
- Ability to stand 75% of the day and lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, bend, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and facility inspection instruments
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
- Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be required
- Compliance with state childcare facility standards
- Adherence to safety, OSHA, and sanitation protocols
- Ability to work overtime in rotation
