About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead fixed asset accounting and reporting processes, including IFRS 16 lease accounting and associated tax requirements
  • Support monthly reporting, forecasts, reconciliations, budgets, statutory accounts, group consolidations, balance sheet reporting and cash flow statements
  • Assist with tax compliance activities, including monthly and quarterly returns and annual tax processes
  • Partner with Commercial, International and Technology teams on financial systems administration, including SAP and Business One
  • Research and provide technical accounting advice on IFRS and other accounting matters
  • Build relationships across the business, provide insights, share best practice and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support a value-add finance function while ensuring compliance with policies, standards and statutory obligations
  • Support projects and initiatives that help LIC improve and evolve

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least three years' experience in an accounting role
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • CA qualification, or be close to obtaining CAANZ membership (or equivalent)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
  • Strong systems capability, with SAP experience highly regarded
  • Well-developed analytical, evaluation and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work
  • Flexible, innovative and adaptable approach with a desire to continuously improve processes and outcomes
