About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide independent second-line oversight across Lloyds Wealth
- Oversee the firm’s regulatory, conduct and compliance risk framework
- Ensure operations remain within regulatory obligations, Board-approved risk appetite and governance expectations
- Lead second-line oversight of distribution, advice and associated business activities
- Act as a delegate to the SMF16 Compliance Oversight Function Holder
- Provide robust challenge and independent assurance
- Advise and provide strategic direction to senior management, executive committees and boards on Wealth Management
- Own the firm’s compliance plan and conduct strategy
- Support compliance with Consumer Duty requirements and fair customer outcomes
- Oversee SMCR controls, including Training & Competency, adviser licensing, certification and fitness and propriety requirements
- Review forthcoming regulatory developments and prepare the business to respond
- Lead regulatory engagement where appropriate
- Drive continuous improvement of the control environment through innovation, data-driven insight and emerging technologies
- Shape risk culture, influence strategic decision-making and support sustainable growth
- Report to the Chief Risk Officer, Insurance, and contribute to the Wealth & Insurance Risk Leadership Team
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years’ experience working in a Wealth Management environment
- Significant senior leadership experience within Compliance, Conduct Risk, Regulatory Oversight or broader Risk functions within retail wealth management or financial advice businesses
- Deep understanding of FCA regulatory requirements applicable to wealth management, financial advice and retail investment businesses
- Strong understanding of Consumer Duty, conduct risk, SMCR and broader regulatory accountability frameworks
- Proven experience leading regulatory engagement and building effective relationships with regulators and internal and external partners
- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, compliance monitoring techniques and emerging regulatory and industry risk trends
- Demonstrable ability to influence and challenge at Executive, Board and Committee level
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, including use of data and technology to strengthen oversight and control effectiveness
