About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide insights for communication strategies
  • Identify what resonates with and matters to audiences to support impactful campaigns and enhance reputation
  • Develop understanding of drivers of the Group's external corporate reputation
  • Conduct corporate audience deep dives and reputational trend analysis
  • Explore and embed analytical approaches including AI-enabled research, social listening, narrative testing and horizon scanning
  • Support refinement of audience measurement processes
  • Champion insight-led strategy using data, technology and expert judgement
  • Challenge assumptions, surface trade-offs and develop campaign direction
  • Present insight developments at planning forums to facilitate strategy discussions
  • Lead production and delivery of insight projects
  • Support strategy planning through white space analysis, horizon scanning, market and competitor scans and other research
  • Deliver ad hoc insights to inform decision making
  • Work across political, regulatory, institutional, colleague and external audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong data analysis and data visualisation skills
  • Experience collating existing research and business knowledge to identify how to use data most effectively
  • Experience of data storytelling and using analytics to influence decision making
  • Confidence presenting data and insight in an engaging way
  • Experience of research involving political, public policy, regulatory or institutional audiences would be valuable
  • Experience of colleague or employee research, with expertise in translating internal audience insight into practical recommendations
  • Good understanding of primary research techniques and ability to turn information into practical insights
  • Experience of social listening and secondary research techniques, including desk research and online media monitoring
  • Experience experimenting with AI-enabled insight techniques, such as automated text analysis, scenario modelling or synthetic audiences
  • Knowledge of how political, regulatory, economic and technological developments can impact reputational strategy
  • Curious mindset and background in responsibly using AI to drive efficiency and improve creative outcomes
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about collaborative working
  • Project management skills, including familiarity with Agile approaches
  • Supplier and budget management experience
  • Strong influencing skills and comfort facilitating discussions with senior partners
  • Confident mentoring skills
  • Experience in an insight or communications agency, corporate communications, public relations or think-tank environment would be advantageous
