About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and support credit risk management processes and systems
- Interpret data and manage efficient, effective production of high-quality analysis
- Deliver technical insight into Business Banking credit risk strategies and systems
- Define and deliver analysis supporting team goals
- Improve credit decisions and maximise efficiency of credit decisioning systems
- Oversee portfolio aspects to support responsible lending and safe, sustainable growth
- Build relationships with the wider Risk team and first-line business areas
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior analysts
- Help shape and deliver enhanced data, infrastructure and credit decisioning capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong numerate skills and qualifications (either A-Level or Degree)
- Practical experience using analytical software and coding, such as SAS or SQL
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of credit risk and change management, including strategies and scorecards
- Ability to explain complicated issues clearly to technical, non-technical, junior and senior audiences, verbally and non-verbally
- Curious, creative attitude and logical thinking for problem solving
- Some experience in credit risk
- Desirable: proficiency in Power BI
- Desirable: coaching junior team members
- Desirable: deputising for management and supporting initiatives
- Desirable: experience in business lending
