About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess risks of commercial loan requests
  • Manage administrative requirements of a commercial loan portfolio
  • Train and mentor junior credit analysts
  • Assist credit and lending staff with commercial loan requests
  • Manage and complete assigned credit-specific projects
  • Gather and analyze financial data including income growth, budgets, projections, cash flow, management quality, and industry information
  • Determine credit extensions and associated risks
  • Assist commercial loan officers with loan structuring in accordance with regulations and policies
  • Provide loan officers with pertinent questions regarding borrowers and loan requests
  • Provide feedback on Member Business Loan policy and procedures
  • Prepare formal requests to waive regulations when required by loan structure
  • Maintain financial statement, covenant, and borrowing base tracking reports
  • Collect and review updated borrower financial information to reassess risk grades and detect potential credit deterioration
  • Assist with the commercial lending referral system and communicate with potential borrowers about loan structures, loan types, and required information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or other related business study
  • Five to eight years of commercial lending underwriting experience
  • Ability to prepare written reports and present formal presentations
  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must adhere to the Credit Union’s Member Business Loan Policy
