About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze business requirements to identify Power BI reporting, dashboard, and data visualization solutions
- Design and develop Power BI solutions, including semantic models, datasets, dashboards, reports, and automated reporting capabilities, to modernize legacy solutions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet their needs
- Develop solutions using Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and supporting Power Platform capabilities
- Create interactive dashboards, reports, data models, and other components to deliver actionable insights
- Integrate Power BI with SharePoint, SQL Server, cloud services, and other systems and applications
- Test and debug solutions for quality standards, data accuracy, and user needs
- Perform unit, integration, and system testing
- Provide technical support for Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and related applications
- Maintain and support Power BI solutions
- Troubleshoot issues related to reports, dashboards, data refreshes, and data models
- Stay current with Power BI and Power Platform technologies and best practices
- Create and maintain technical documentation for SharePoint solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Secret-cleared Power BI Developer; must possess an active Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience developing Power BI solutions
- Strong understanding of Power BI architecture, data modeling, development frameworks, and best practices
- Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and relevant data visualization techniques
- Experience developing interactive dashboards, reports, semantic models, datasets, and data refresh solutions
- Knowledge of SQL Server, database design, and data integration concepts
- Experience with Power BI and supporting Power Platform software, including Power Apps, Power Pages, and Power Automate, for automation, documentation, and reporting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Preferred: Master’s degree; organizational change management understanding and/or certifications; Human Centered Design principles and methodologies; 508 compliance requirements; government contracting experience; previous experience in DoW
- Background in digital transformation, data analytics, development, and/or User Experience/Human Centered Design highly desired
