About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the loan remediation pipeline by tracking, prioritizing, and updating assigned cases
  • Collect, verify, and image required documentation in compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines
  • Follow up with internal teams and third-party vendors to obtain documentation and remediate outstanding issues
  • Validate borrower information, loan terms, and remediation actions before finalizing updates or decisions
  • Review loan files for completeness and compliance with policies and regulations
  • Own assigned cases and drive them to resolution with minimal supervision
  • Analyze complex loan scenarios and develop practical remediation solutions
  • Collaborate with lines of business and stakeholders to coordinate efforts and identify process improvements
  • Communicate strategically with leaders and stakeholders to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely decisions
  • Mentor and assist junior-level employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years in a supporting role within Loss Mitigation or related functions such as Underwriting, Closing or Quality Assurance
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn proprietary loan systems
  • Demonstrated accuracy in reviewing and correcting loan documents for compliance and error prevention
  • Effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Ability to organize, track, and verify loan documentation across multiple systems and formats
  • Experience with precise data entry and maintaining consistency across systems
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal workflows
  • Ability to quickly grasp concepts, make sound decisions, and resolve issues efficiently
  • Associate’s degree in business, finance, or related field (desired)
  • Understanding of underwriting criteria for FHA, VA, and conventional mortgages (desired)
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis to identify issues, determine corrective actions, and improve remediation processes (desired)
