About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the branch team across customer service, sales, operations, inventory management, safety, and overall branch effectiveness
- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, mentoring, and development for branch associates
- Establish expectations, priorities, accountability, team goals, and performance standards
- Lead interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management in partnership with Human Resources
- Conduct branch meetings and communicate company initiatives, business priorities, performance expectations, and team goals
- Support profitable sales growth and market share expansion within the local market
- Monitor individual and team sales performance and coach associates toward sales goals
- Engage existing and prospective customers, contractors, industrial accounts, and key decision-makers to strengthen relationships and identify business opportunities
- Build and maintain customer relationships and ensure exceptional customer service
- Represent Loeb Electric within the local community, industry organizations, and customer events
- Oversee daily branch operations, including customer service, warehouse operations, inventory management, safety, and asset protection
- Ensure inventory accuracy, product availability, efficient warehouse operations, facility and asset maintenance, and branch security
- Promote safe operating practices and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Develop and execute annual branch business plans focused on team performance, customer retention, sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence
- Monitor branch financial performance, expenses, productivity, and key performance indicators
- Identify performance gaps and implement coaching, process improvements, or corrective actions
- Travel within the local market to visit customers, attend meetings, participate in industry or community events, and support business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of three years of leadership or management experience within distribution, construction, industrial, electrical, or a related industry
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop employees, and create accountability
- Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated customer relationship management and business development capabilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the local market as needed
- Experience within the electrical distribution industry preferred
- Knowledge of Eclipse ERP or similar distribution software preferred
- Experience leading teams responsible for both sales and operational performance preferred
- Demonstrated success improving employee performance, customer relationships, and business results preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull packages, products, and materials weighing up to 75 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance or material handling equipment
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the branch, warehouse, sales counter, and surrounding property, including extended periods on concrete flooring
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, high-visibility apparel, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, or other PPE
- Ability to travel within the local market as required
- Ability to hear safety signals and verbal instructions and communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to work in office, sales counter, warehouse, and outdoor environments with possible exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, dust, vehicle traffic, warehouse equipment, and moderate noise levels
