About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the development and implementation of enterprise data governance processes and frameworks
Define data stewardship roles, responsibilities, and ownership models for critical data domains
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify critical data elements and governance requirements
Assess current-state governance practices, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
Review Enterprise Data Management processes and establish governance standards and operating procedures
Develop and maintain data governance playbooks, policies, and implementation guidance
Create and manage governance roadmaps supporting organizational data strategy objectives
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions related to data stewardship, accountability, and governance adoption
Support metadata management, data ownership alignment, and governance operating model development
Collaborate with data governance, stewardship, and technical teams to drive governance execution and adoption
Provide governance guidance and recommendations as data management capabilities and tooling expand

Requirements

What you’ll need

5-10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Stewardship, or related disciplines
Experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks and operating models
Strong understanding of data stewardship, data ownership, metadata management, and data quality concepts
Familiarity with data catalog, metadata management, or governance platforms such as Ataccama
Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and building alignment across business and technology teams
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable governance processes
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience developing governance documentation, playbooks, standards, and operating procedures
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a consulting or client-facing environment
Ability to work across U.S. time zones and travel up to once per quarter based on client and project needs
Consulting and/or Utility industry experience highly preferred
Experience supporting enterprise data management or data governance transformation initiatives
Experience establishing stewardship programs and governance councils
Product Owner, Business Analyst, or governance leadership experience within large enterprise environments
