About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs and chief complaints
- Prepare examination rooms based on patient chief complaints
- Perform phlebotomy and obtain specimens for processing
- Administer vaccines and complete required documentation
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG and Pulmonary Function tests under physician supervision
- Screen and direct patient calls according to established protocols
- Contact patients regarding prescriptions and testing results under physician supervision
- Perform and document daily regulatory testing
- Maintain clinical supply par levels
- Perform front desk duties including patient registration, billing, and appointment scheduling
- Prepare charts and obtain lab/test results before patient visits
- Ensure appropriate documentation in patient records
- Identify and close care gaps
- Communicate with practices regarding items to address at subsequent visits
- Collaborate with providers and healthcare personnel to support patient flow and clinical operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant
- BLS Certification required
- 1-3 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred
