About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide clinical and administrative support for in-person and virtual patient care
- Prepare patients for office and telehealth visits
- Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, and clinical information
- Prepare examination rooms based on patient needs
- Perform phlebotomy and obtain specimens for processing
- Administer vaccines and complete required documentation
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG and Pulmonary Function tests under physician supervision
- Screen and direct patient calls according to established protocol
- Contact patients regarding prescriptions and testing results under physician supervision
- Perform daily regulatory testing and document results
- Maintain clinical supply par levels
- Perform front desk duties, including patient registration, billing, and appointment scheduling
- Support seamless patient experiences across all care settings
Requirements
What you’ll need- 0-2 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Virtua Health Medical Assistant Program
- Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant
- In the state of DE, certification is required within 1 year of hire
- BLS Certification required
- Ability to perform clinical procedures within the scope of certification
- Ability to work the stated hybrid schedule, including in-office and remote work
- May be required to work onsite on an occasional Tuesday to provide coverage for the full-time Medical Assistant
