About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage activities relating to procurement and purchase orders
  • Place orders through EDI, fax, or phone
  • Expedite backorders and obtain substitute items
  • Inform customers of order delays
  • Review order confirmations and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor open purchase orders and validate pricing, delivery dates, unit of measure, and quantity
  • Update information in the appropriate database
  • Coordinate with receiving for accurate item processing
  • Expedite past-due orders by contacting vendors, receiving, and end users
  • Assist with product recalls, product failures, and procurement card orders
  • Obtain credits on returned items
  • Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services based on reliability, product quality, and cost efficiency
  • Maintain daily contact with department personnel, requisitioners, administrators, supplier representatives, and coworkers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1 year progressively responsible experience in administrative support
  • PC skills and experience in a Windows-based environment
  • High school diploma required
  • Associate degree in a business-related area preferred
