About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes
- Perform a wide variety of radiologic procedures according to established and approved protocols and standards
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and responsibly in accordance with ALARA guidelines
- Support the Virtua Mission and Vision statement and uphold Virtua Values and STAR behaviors
- Adhere to Virtua policies and procedures
- Perform radiologic procedures for all patient populations according to radiologist-established protocols
- Apply radiation safety and protection principles
- Evaluate images to produce radiographic images of the highest diagnostic quality
- Provide thorough and accurate documentation
- Obtain pertinent medical information before procedures
- Review and verify physicians’ orders
- Document correct side, LMP, and other relevant information
- Use radiographic equipment and computer systems such as RIS, PACS, Web viewer, ADW workstation, and other hospital-based computer or PC systems
- Provide instruction and assist in training new staff or student radiologic technologists
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
- Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.)
- NJDEP licensure required
- CPR certification preferred
- Ability to perform radiologic procedures for all patient populations according to established protocols
- Knowledge of radiation safety and protection principles, including ALARA guidelines
- Ability to use radiographic equipment and computer systems including RIS, PACS, Web viewer, ADW workstation, and hospital-based computer or PC systems
- Availability for Wednesday to Saturday plus every other Sunday
- Availability for 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm shifts
- One-year commitment
