About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes
  • Perform a wide variety of radiologic procedures according to established protocols and standards
  • Operate radiographic equipment safely and responsibly following ALARA guidelines
  • Perform procedures for all patient populations according to radiologist-established protocols
  • Evaluate images to produce radiographic images of the highest diagnostic quality
  • Obtain pertinent medical information and verify physicians’ orders before procedures
  • Document correct side, LMP and other required information
  • Use radiographic equipment and computer systems including RIS, PACS, Web viewer and ADW workstation
  • Instruct and assist in training new staff or student radiologic technologists
  • Adhere to Virtua’s mission, values, policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.)
  • NJDEP licensure required
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Knowledge and effective use of RIS, PACS, Web viewer, ADW workstation and other hospital-based computer or PC systems
  • Ability to perform radiologic procedures for all patient populations according to established protocols
  • Ability to apply radiation safety and protection principles and follow ALARA guidelines
  • Ability to provide thorough and accurate documentation
