About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform quantitative and financial analysis and audits to identify opportunities for improvement across the Revenue Cycle
- Ensure the charge master and fee schedules comply with government policies, procedures, and third-party payor needs
- Review and analyze CPT changes related to quarterly and annual AMA CPT updates and regulatory changes
- Coordinate charge master and fee schedule consistency, including descriptions, coding, additions, deletions, and pricing
- Analyze net revenue effects of proposed charge master and fee schedule changes
- Perform internal billing audits for coding, billing regulatory compliance, and charge capture accuracy
- Develop working relationships with Revenue Integrity, Finance, Information Technology, Revenue, and Clinical Operations teams
- Monitor and review revenue cycle work queues in Epic
- Analyze work queue issues, trends, root causes, and develop action plans
- Assist with strategic pricing and resolution of patient revenue cycle issues
- Provide guidance on work queue rules based on coding changes
- Assist with Epic performance reporting, including Revenue & Usage, Enterprise Charge Reconciliation, and Volume Reports
- Serve as a resource to Patient Financial Services staff regarding reporting problems and claim denials
- Research coding issues and recommend solutions to account representatives
- Analyze billing errors and denial data to identify root causes
- Implement corrective actions to ensure compliant charges and prevent future rejections and denials
- Lead and participate in Revenue Cycle initiatives and other projects
- Provide input to the Director and Manager for annual Revenue Integrity planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 to 5 years' experience within a large hospital or integrated healthcare delivery system
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and business lines
- Exceptional oral/written communication skills and highly customer focused
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate with many, various customers
- Ability to prioritize, plan and execute
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree, in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare preferred
- EPIC Revenue Integrity, Hospital Billing, Physician Billing Certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC
- Hospital charge description master experience
- Charge audits
- Coding & billing guidelines
- Ability to work the Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm schedule
- Ability to meet local onsite meeting requirements
