About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Enhance, support, and maintain applications within the Virtua Health System
  • Provide subject matter expertise in solutions development and implementation
  • Understand and document business needs and recommend appropriate IT solutions
  • Optimize applications through new functionality development, vendor release testing and implementation, system upgrades, and defect resolution
  • Provide technical and functional application analysis and define system requirements
  • Work with Informatics to develop Visio models using best practices for build, configuration, maintenance, and data integrity
  • Create education sessions and facilitate team meetings when requested
  • Interpret and analyze workflow and system requirements to design, configure, test, and implement IT application solutions
  • Create and maintain application documentation and configuration standards
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and design efficient workflow processes
  • Provide day-to-day support, error management, maintenance, and troubleshooting for multiple IT applications
  • Maintain documentation of business processes, workflows, and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate customer engagement through meetings, rounding, IT initiatives, and communications about requirements and priorities
  • Develop design specifications and build application components based on customer needs
  • Analyze new release functionality and determine appropriate use
  • Collaborate with IT personnel, Virtua Clinical and Business Operations, vendors, and IT partners to resolve issues
  • Assist with procedures supporting existing systems and test disaster recovery plans
  • Design complex future-state business processes with customers
  • Monitor system performance and take corrective action to minimize interruptions
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving support and serve as a technical resource
  • Participate in system build, configuration, and testing events
  • Develop complex test plans and complete unit, integrated, and third-party application testing
  • Prepare testing validation documentation and obtain go-live approvals
  • Guide junior staff with upgrades, issue resolution, and application development
  • Review ServiceNow ticket queues for compliance with problems, requests, and incidents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Healthcare IT or related field
  • Business, Revenue Cycle, Financial or clinical specialty experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of the business of health care, flows of information, and emerging technologies
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Experience leading and overseeing projects and upgrades preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, MS Teams, and PowerPoint, and Service Now
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills
  • B.A./B.S. in Information Systems or related field required; relevant years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Expertise and certification required in multiple IT applications
  • If IT certification, such as Epic certification, is required at time of hire, employee must obtain up-to-date certification in designated application(s) within 6 months of employment
  • Clindoc Certification
  • Local candidates preferred - required onsite as needed
  • Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to cybersecurity and HIPAA policies and practices
