About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform high-quality vascular and general ultrasound examinations according to radiologist/designated specialist protocols
Perform arterial and venous diagnostic procedures using high-frequency sound waves
Assist physicians in diagnosing disorders affecting circulation
Perform perinatal sonography for high-risk maternity patients
Recognize and accurately document pathology identified in scans
Perform a preliminary evaluation for each patient
Obtain pertinent medical history and previous examinations and reports
Review and verify physician’s orders
Respond to schedule changes, rotational shifts, and on-call requests
Use RIS and hospital-based computer programs while maintaining confidentiality
Prepare rooms for biopsy exams and assist with scanning during biopsy procedures
Assist in inter-operative biopsy procedures and respond to the operating room

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience preferred in vascular imaging, abdominal, obstetrical, and small parts
Formal education in a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program
RDMS program graduate for the MFM area
Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) through ARDMS or ARRT
Ability to perform vascular and general ultrasound examinations according to approved techniques and protocols
Thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment
Ability to use RIS and hospital-based computer programs
Ability to cover all shifts on a rotational basis and respond immediately on call
Ability to assist with biopsy and inter-operative biopsy procedures
