About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with management of daily patient care activities and clinical operations
  • Ensure agency, accreditation, regulatory, and legal requirements are met in assigned geographic areas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing through an AD, Diploma, or BSN program
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in North Carolina or South Carolina
  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in an acute care setting
  • Minimum of three years management experience, preferably in acute care, home care, or residential setting
  • Hospice experience preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Collaborative problem-solving, planning, coordination, evaluation, and management skills
  • Knowledge of licensing, certification, and accreditation standards
  • Strong nursing skills and knowledge of nursing standards and the Nurse Practice Act
  • Ability to analyze trends
  • Must be literate in the English language
  • Ability to develop positive interactions with patients, families, physicians, staff, peers, and external customers
  • Conflict resolution and stress management knowledge
  • Ability to sit for deskwork and meetings, write, walk, stand, and climb stairs
  • Ability to read and understand regulations and standards, formulate policies and procedures, manage daily operations, direct patient care activities, supervise staff, and plan, implement, and evaluate programs and interventions
  • Ability to use sight and hearing to assess and communicate regarding patient care
  • Ability to respond to after-hours and weekend calls, rotate management call, and flex hours for supervisory visits
  • Ability to work with patient populations from infants through geriatric patients with life-limiting illness
  • Potential exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens, body fluids, sharps, infectious diseases, dangerous animals, traffic hazards, safety threats, temperature changes, and weather extremes
