About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, from infants through geriatric patients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing through an RN and/or BSN program
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of North Carolina
  • Two years of experience
  • Prefer at least one year of Home Care, Hospice, or related oncology experience
  • Hand/eye coordination for injections and computer use
  • Ability to speak clearly with patients, families, physicians, and staff
  • Must communicate and be literate in English
  • Ability to develop positive interactions with patients, families, physicians, and staff
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing at least 45 pounds or less
  • Ability to push, move, and lift patients
  • Ability to assess patient condition, formulate a Plan of Care, and select appropriate interventions
  • Short- and long-term memory and higher-level mental faculties
  • Ability to assess patients and use sight and hearing to implement and evaluate the Plan of Care
  • Ability to work with exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, needle puncture wounds, traffic hazards, dangerous animals, safety threats, temperature changes, and weather extremes
  • Flexible schedule accommodating staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
