About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build out Loyal's consumer and veterinary marketing capabilities for the anticipated launch of LOY-002.
- Own the marketing and communications plan end to end, including category strategy, audiences, channels, messaging, and brand presence.
- Build a new medicine category for veterinary professionals and consumers.
- Develop early messaging and positioning for aging care.
- Define target audiences and the best ways to reach them.
- Build concrete launch plans and define pre-approval success metrics.
- Build and prepare the marketing team as launch approaches.
- Establish capabilities to educate veterinary professionals, drive consumer demand, and grow awareness of Loyal.
- Own company communications and set strategy for communicating the R&D pipeline, publications, partnerships, and Loyal's role in longevity and senior dog care.
- Report to the VP of Commercial and lead the existing marketing team of two.
Requirements
What you’ll need- You've built a marketing function from the ground up.
- You've marketed to both consumers and professionals; healthcare or animal health experience is a plus.
- You've taken a product to market and can talk specifically about what you'd do differently next time.
- Strong taste and opinions about brand, balancing credibility and rigor with veterinary professionals and warmth and accessibility with consumers.
- Comfortable setting strategy with an executive team and working the tactics.
- You've hired and developed marketers.
- Able to operate without a scoreboard while defining key metrics.
- Diverse marketing background across both consumers and professionals.
- Demonstrated track record of successful launches.
- Strong team leadership and team-building ability.
- Experience in a regulated category is a bonus, not required.
- Experience building something people talked about without a large paid budget is a bonus, not required.
