About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build high quality back-office workflow applications and services for operators and internal stakeholders
Develop backend microservices and REST APIs
Work in event-driven systems using Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Camunda 8 workflow orchestration
Participate in code reviews and sprint ceremonies
Implement feature requests and produce testable solutions meeting business and functional requirements
Test and validate solutions
Take accountability for service level objectives for assigned work
Collaborate with designers and engineers on technical designs and implementations
Respond to user support issues and assist users with application navigation and basic problems
Communicate with stakeholders and end-users to understand needs and deliver features and defect resolutions
Establish and maintain relationships with customers
Understand the markets, products, and competitive landscape served by the company
Create operating mechanisms to ensure all project-team voices are heard and commit to team decisions
Identify process improvements and advocate for changes to processes, policies, and tools

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of experience building scalable enterprise applications
6+ years of experience building backend services and APIs with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Spring Data JPA, Spring Kafka, OpenFeign, gRPC, PostgreSQL, and Docker containers
3+ years hands-on experience with workflow or process automation, such as Camunda 8 / Zeebe job workers, process instances, and Tasklist/Operate integrations
3+ years experience with cloud platforms, AWS preferred, and containerized deployment on Kubernetes
Experience with BPMN 2.0 and Camunda 8 deployment pipelines
Experience with Confluent/Kafka, including SASL, topic design, and consumer reliability
Experience with Liquibase or similar relational migration tooling
Familiarity with Angular and micro-frontends, such as Nx and module federation, for the operator portal
Exposure to Dynatrace or similar observability for production workflow platforms
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
