About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage high-performance data capture systems
- Manage the data pipeline flowing between capturing, storing, and transforming capital markets data
- Perform operational work for data pipeline components
- Envision future growth in utilization and technology selection for work components
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for server provisioning and configuration management
- Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications in production
- Perform application deployments and operating system updates
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with potential deployment and update failures
- Manage Git-based pipelines and version control systems
- Support data copying, task scheduling, Linux daemons, and network troubleshooting
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 to 7+ years of professional experience with Linux, preferably RHEL or RHEL-derived distributions (CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux)
- 5+ years of experience scripting Python
- Expert use of Ansible to develop and maintain playbooks and roles for server provisioning and configuration management
- Proficiency with Linux and understanding of Linux server architecture and operation, including performance and latency tuning
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Docker, Podman, or other containerization technology in production environments
- Comfort with data copying, scheduling tasks, and Linux daemons
- Extensive experience with application deployments and OS updates, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies for potential failures
- Experience with Git-based version control systems, such as GitLab and/or GitHub, and managing pipelines in these products
- Basic networking knowledge and ability to interpret Wireshark/tcpdump capture output
- English proficiency required
- Willingness to work US Eastern shift for the first 6 months during initial training
- Willingness to work some weekends when needed for deployments
