About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage high-performance data capture systems
Manage the data pipeline flowing between capturing, storing, and transforming capital markets data
Perform operational management of Linux-based systems and data pipeline components
Envision future growth in utilization and technology selection for system components
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for server provisioning and configuration management
Design, deploy, and manage production containerized applications
Perform application deployments and OS updates
Assess and mitigate risks associated with potential deployment and update failures
Manage Git-based pipelines in GitLab and/or GitHub
Support data copying, task scheduling, and Linux daemons
Work weekends when needed for deployments

Requirements

What you’ll need

5 to 7+ years of professional experience with Linux, preferably RHEL or RHEL-derived distributions (CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux)
5+ years of experience with Bash and/or Python scripting languages
Significant experience using Ansible to develop and maintain playbooks and roles for server provisioning and configuration management
Proficiency with Linux and understanding of Linux server architecture and operation, including performance and latency tuning
Experience designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Docker, Podman, or other containerization technology in production environments
Comfortable with data copying, scheduling tasks, and Linux daemons
Extensive experience with application deployments and OS updates, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies for potential failures
Experience with Git-based version control systems, such as GitLab and/or GitHub, and managing pipelines in these products
Basic networking knowledge and ability to interpret Wireshark/tcpdump capture output
Experience with AWS, S3, AWS CLI, and Rsync
English proficiency is required
Must be willing to work US Eastern hours for the first 6 months during initial training
Must be willing to work some weekends when needed for deployments
