Ground Operations Technician

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform manual removal of vegetation from work areas
- Apply pesticides
- Safely operate forestry equipment, including skidders, mowers, chainsaws, and ATVs
- Perform line clearance, pruning, and removals
- Learn felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management
- Complete paid hands-on, on-the-job training
- Work full time, year-round, outdoors, performing physical labor
Requirements
What you’ll need- No tree industry experience necessary
- Must be able to work 45 hours weekly
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED/or equivalent
- Current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Ability to work outside in various types of weather
- Physical ability to walk on uneven ground and carry 75 lbs.
- Willingness to work at varying heights
- Willingness and ability to learn how to run a bucket truck and operate equipment safely
- Willingness and ability to obtain a CDL A or B license
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain licenses and certifications required by the position
- Successful completion of a post-offer physical and drug screen
- Successful completion of a background and motor vehicle check
