About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead asset condition visibility, field verification, and operational feedback functions
Guide regional inspectors conducting visual, IR thermography, substation audits, and feeder assessments
Coordinate with Operations to validate and drive timely closure of OOS equipment, CM work orders, field corrective actions, WRs, defects, and anomalies
Ensure asset condition data is accurate, field-verified, and prepared for ingestion into Asset Strategy & Risk
Evaluate root-cause analyses for asset failures and recurring defects
Guide operational reliability analytics, including SAIDI/SAIFI contributors, feeder performance, and T-D equipment trends
Develop dashboards, reports, and insights for planning, prioritization, and PREB reporting
Communicate audit-ready documentation for regulatory and internal governance reviews
Support risk modeling, asset class strategies, and PM/CM program refinement
Support corporate safety, environmental, and compliance programs
Lead consistent application of policies and regulatory standards across teams
Lead and validate restoration and emergency preparedness planning and execution
Assume expanded duties aligned with organizational priorities and professional scope

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering required
5 to 7 years of experience in a similar functional role
At least 3 years overseeing employees directly, leading teams, budgets, and projects in a Supervisor role
8 years of experience in a Utility Environment
Experience managing day-to-day operations, teams, defining work plans, and achieving departmental objectives
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Membership of College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico
Valid driver's license
Willingness to travel 20%
Professional Engineer License issued by the Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects of Puerto Rico preferred
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering may substitute for required experience when accompanied by at least 3 years performing related functions and at least 2 years in a Manager role
