About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and support technical activities in specialized areas requiring technical expertise
  • Provide technical assistance and basic technical support to field and construction groups
  • Apply technical knowledge to promote a safe work environment and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Review functional specifications for completeness and practical limitations
  • Coordinate activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Support review of technical documentation
  • Support basic work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating
  • Support development and updates of single line diagrams and equipment specifications for engineering review and approval
  • Support material procurement
  • Collaborate in the QA/QC process
  • Utilize and improve processes and standards
  • Provide reporting, including presentations to work groups and management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in a technical field or BS Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college
  • Zero to two years of professional engineering experience
  • Business knowledge in the utility and regulated environment
  • Interpersonal and relationship development skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers
  • Team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical issues
  • Ability to work extended hours, including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, including overnight travel
  • Preferred: 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a technical discipline
  • Preferred: Working knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments
  • Preferred: Experience in utility industry trade organizations
  • Preferred: Experience with MS Office 365, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
