About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain models for the annual budget, rolling forecasts, headcount and cost plans, and longer-term strategic plan.
- Lead planning cycles end to end with department leaders.
- Analyse actual results against plan, identify underlying drivers and provide recommendations.
- Define and track KPIs and build reporting and dashboards for leadership.
- Partner with business leaders on financial plans, performance and resource decisions.
- Provide executive- and board-level analysis on financial performance, investment priorities and key value drivers.
- Evaluate financial implications of growth, hiring, investment, market expansion and fundraising scenarios.
- Improve FP&A processes, systems and AI-enabled workflows.
- Report to the VP Finance and work alongside the Financial Controller.
- Build the wider FP&A team as Luminance scales.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience in FP&A, corporate finance or financial planning and analysis.
- A track record of building or significantly improving FP&A models, processes and reporting within a scaling business.
- Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS, enterprise software or technology company, with a strong understanding of SaaS metrics and recurring-revenue economics.
- Excellent financial modelling, forecasting and scenario-analysis skills.
- Strong financial and commercial judgement, with the ability to challenge assumptions and turn complex analysis into clear recommendations.
- Credibility with senior stakeholders and the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance audiences.
- A hands-on, high-ownership approach—you are as comfortable building the model as presenting its conclusions.
- Practical experience using modern systems, data, AI and automation to improve the quality and speed of finance work.
- Experience supporting board, investor or fundraising processes.
- A professional accounting qualification or relevant background in investment banking, consulting or investing.
- Familiarity with business-intelligence tools and financial-planning platforms.
