About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead field-based Area Sales Manager and Account Manager teams to drive the sale and promotion of Lundbeck products in the West Region
  • Develop and execute regional strategies and tactics to meet or exceed sales, financial, and operational goals
  • Execute business planning, performance measurement, alliance partnership management, resource planning and allocation, managed market access and pull-through
  • Develop comprehensive short- and long-term sales and revenue plans
  • Monitor and report regional sales performance against key metrics; adjust targets as appropriate
  • Conduct business reviews and coaching to maintain high sales performance
  • Partner with alliance partners to develop integrated strategic business plans and ensure commercial execution
  • Organize, plan, conduct, and attend sales and sales management meetings
  • Collaborate with Marketing on sales implementation of marketing plans
  • Coordinate priorities between Market Access/reimbursement and sales teams
  • Lead regional budgeting and expense management
  • Travel in the field to meet customers, understand needs, solve problems, develop strategies, and monitor sales-team performance
  • Execute talent development, engagement, and succession-planning strategies
  • Partner with sales training, marketing, sales operations, medical, and government affairs functions
  • Oversee business-planning systems implemented by area sales management
  • Perform additional home-office responsibilities assigned by senior management
  • Ensure compliance with Lundbeck business guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Accredited Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical salespeople management experience, leading diversified sales teams with successful results
  • Must live in the region or a state which shares a border and be close to a major airport; preference to live in the region
  • Demonstrated ability to instill trust and drive results through others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a region and leadership team in creating and executing strategic plans
  • Ability to develop talent through development strategies and resources, with emphasis on feedback and coaching
  • Robust financial acumen
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong analytical capability
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Must meet and comply with reasonable industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers/customer facilities for continued employment
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% domestically
  • Preferred: Accredited Master of Business Administration
  • Preferred: Neuroscience product experience
  • Preferred: Previous cross-functional experience in operations, analytics, marketing, and/or training
  • Preferred: 2+ years of second-line sales management
  • Preferred: Marketing management, sales training management, or additional home office experience
  • Preferred: Previous experience working with alliance partners/co-promotions
  • Preferred: Successful new product launch experience
