About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and schedule maintenance functions at the Channelview manufacturing site
- Plan electrical equipment work and develop planned job packages for I/E repair work and improvement projects
- Ensure personal, coworker, and workplace safety
- Plan daily work and create equipment task lists
- Ensure adherence to the Maintenance and Operations Workflow Process
- Procure materials and services with the Purchasing Group, using Outline Agreements where applicable
- Participate in planning and scheduling meetings
- Collaborate with FLS, Craft Supervision, Scheduler, Area I/E Specialist, and Production Maintenance Coordinator on job plans
- Create and change equipment BOMs
- Support site emergency maintenance issues during off-hours
- Review backlogs and planner priority lists for duplicates
- Group notifications into single orders to optimize resource utilization
- Ensure plans meet process-unit timing requirements
- Validate scope through notification review and field walks
- Build job plans specifying instructions, crafts, durations, tools, equipment, materials, and third-party services
- Assemble job packages for execution
- Use repair history, condition-monitoring data, and personnel feedback to develop appropriate work scope
- Identify and implement reliability-driven improvements
- Plan and release critical PMs, PHA findings, action items, and safety work orders before scheduling
- Ensure MOCs are authorized before releasing jobs
- Ensure I&E jobs meet site standards
- Review planned versus actual costs and hours monthly
- Conduct field job walks to validate scope, identify execution risks, and improve estimate accuracy
- Ensure material, contractor, rental equipment, and third-party service readiness before schedule commitment
- Ensure assigned work packages are complete, high quality, and execution-ready
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an instrument/electrical/analyzer maintenance technician in a petrochemical or refining environment
- Attentive listening, good written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Organization and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to quality and safety
- Self-motivated and customer oriented
- Strong computer skills in SAP, Windows applications, and email
- Proficiency in SAP PM, including work order planning, task list development, BOM maintenance, and labor estimating
- Ability to develop detailed maintenance work packages from field scope through execution
- Working knowledge of maintenance planning best practices, backlog management, and work management processes in a petrochemical or refining environment
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
