About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document data and reporting requirements
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and data mapping documents
- Conduct structured interviews and mock requirement exercises
- Work with Product Owners, Business SMEs, Data Owners, data engineers, and Scrum teams
- Perform conceptual, logical, and physical data mapping
- Act as the single point of contact for data queries from engineering and testing teams
- Support transformation initiatives across Finance Operations and Actuarial functions
- Support development and enhancement of data models, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs to validate requirements and proposed solutions
- Identify and resolve data quality issues and blockers with technical teams
- Maintain documentation using MS Visio and Confluence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 6–10 years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst in financial services or insurance
- Strong understanding of data analysis, data governance, and business process modelling
- Experience comparing and analysing data sets, patterns, and schemas
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Python
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Scrum
- Scientific mindset and structured problem-solving approach
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Basic knowledge of PySpark, Python, and Azure
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Experience with Azure technologies such as Logic Apps and Data Factory is a plus
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT
- PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus
- IIBA CBAP Certification
