About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own hiring across a broad mix of roles in Uganda and beyond, including Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, and Europe
  • Partner directly with leadership teams
  • Build the sourcing engine through talent pools, referrals, and professional community relationships
  • Run recruitment as a product, measuring quality of hire
  • Advise hiring managers when role briefs do not match the market
  • Use AI tools to improve work quality
  • Report to the Head of Talent Acquisition
  • Support M-KOPA’s hiring growth as the company expands its customer and employee base

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrable end-to-end recruitment experience in Uganda, across both high-volume and specialist hiring
  • Experience in other African countries is a significant benefit or growth opportunity
  • Proven track record of sourcing and attracting candidates directly through adverts, referrals, and personal networks
  • Strong command of the Ugandan labour market, including closing candidates holding counter-offers
  • Extensive use of AI tools, including Claude, Notion, and Ashby
  • Ability to work within UTC−1 to UTC+3 time zones
  • Willingness to travel to the office at least one day per week
  • Legal right to work in the specified location or appropriate visa/work permit
