About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations
- Provide one-on-one financial counseling and consultation to military service members and their families
- Consult with commanders, providers, and staff
- Conduct briefings, presentations, classes, and seminars
- Provide referral resources outside counseling sessions
- Work with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program meets installation needs and remains within scope
- Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials
- Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle
- Provide age-appropriate classes or seminars in response to requests
- Use virtual counseling and electronic communication methods, including web-based tools, secure online chat, video communications, and secure video teleconference when authorized
- Manage duty-to-warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol
- Communicate with leadership and participate in individual and group supervision
- Share information about trends and issues at assigned installations
- Participate in in-services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- Associate degree plus 4 years' experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Fluent English required
- Bilingual English and Spanish if required by the contract
- Able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
- Must hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- Valid in-state driver's license
