About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop technical specifications and standards for new production equipment and automation solutions with Magna Seating Europe teams
  • Lead and support projects focused on robotic and collaborative robot applications
  • Act as technical interface between local manufacturing teams, machine builders, suppliers, and cross-functional departments
  • Provide technical consultation, knowledge sharing, and training to local engineering and operations teams
  • Develop and continuously improve technical standards and guidelines as part of the Group OT Europe team
  • Develop practical technical solutions for manufacturing and automation challenges
  • Provide technical leadership throughout equipment development and implementation lifecycles
  • Support commissioning, validation, and deployment activities when required
  • Promote standardization and scalability of automation solutions across Magna Seating Europe
  • Contribute to advanced manufacturing solutions, digital transformation initiatives, and automation strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree or college diploma in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, alternatively a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in a comparable technical role
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within international and cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience in industrial robot programming, preferably with FANUC, ABB, or KUKA robots
  • Experience with Siemens PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems is considered a strong advantage
  • Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, VBA, or C#
  • Understanding of Industrial IoT, OT cybersecurity principles, and industrial communication protocols, including PROFINET, MQTT, and OPC UA
  • Experience with databases and various data storage technologies
  • Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong understanding of Operational Technology (OT) systems and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with digitalization, Industry 4.0, and smart manufacturing initiatives is an advantage
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Able to persuade/influence stakeholders to drive optimization and standards
