About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide compassionate and dignified end-of-life care to patients and support their families
- Consult regularly with the multidisciplinary team to evaluate patient status and appropriateness of care, including admission, length of stay, transfer, and discharge
- Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions
- Recommend additional services and referrals for community resources to providers
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessments
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
- Participate in interdisciplinary team planning to determine appropriate care and services
- Address patients' emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least one year of nursing experience for experienced RNs; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply
- Must commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week
- Current Registered Nurse license in Maine or licensure from a compact state required
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record required
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong technology/computer skills
- Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
