About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide primary or acute healthcare services for specified populations
  • Serve as first assist to OB/GYN surgeons during inpatient and outpatient operative procedures
  • Conduct outpatient clinical assessments, consultations, and preoperative workups
  • Manage postoperative follow-up visits, wound care, and recovery-path assessments
  • Perform daily rounds on surgical patients
  • Coordinate cross-functional care plans
  • Manage acute postoperative complications
  • Facilitate timely hospital discharges
  • Partner with OB/GYN physicians, APPs, certified nurse midwives, and support staff
  • Provide maternal and gynecological healthcare

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Associate (PA) program
  • Eligibility for an active, unrestricted license to practice in the State of Maine
  • National certification as a NP or PA
  • Active Surgical First Assist certification strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct surgical first-assisting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience focused on general surgery or OB/GYN procedures strongly preferred
  • Experience with the Da Vinci surgical robot preferred
  • Ability to provide first-assist surgical support, inpatient rounding, and outpatient clinic support
  • Scheduled for 40 hours per week
