About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Meet with patients or caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation
- Explain processes and address concerns and questions
- Communicate with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange information and determine placement
- Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or refer patients to financial counselors
- Obtain and accurately enter demographic, billing, and clinical information into the registration system in a timely manner
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive customer service experience
- Excellent and demonstrated communication skills
- Computer literacy
- 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
- Basic insurance knowledge preferred
