About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver compassionate, holistic care to patients before, during, and after surgery
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment
- Optimize patient outcomes and maximize available resources
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care
- Coordinate patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
- Maintain and troubleshoot surgical equipment
- Delegate patient care effectively to ancillary personnel
- Precept student nurses and new hires as needed
- Complete cross-campus training and float to the Alfond Center for Health if needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current State of Maine RN license (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and team members
- Ability to complete cross-campus training and float to the Alfond Center for Health if needed
