About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support client onboarding for assigned client engagements
Engage in client acquisition and retention initiatives
Organize and update digital and physical financial records
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, bookkeeping entries, monthly book closing, financial reporting and analysis, payroll, and special projects
Prepare depreciation schedules, sales journals, sales tax returns, and reconcile payroll records and employment tax returns
Collaborate with the manager and Associates to provide timely accounting support and meet deadlines
Prepare and file corporate and individual income tax returns
Maintain client inventory records, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, internal management reports, and ad hoc reports
Prepare year-end audit schedules and support audits
Document, design, and test financial statement and financial performance processes
Assist with systems and spreadsheet automation for accounting functions
Perform other related duties within the scope of the position

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area; Master’s degree is a plus
Candidates with a CPA qualification or on a CPA Track will be prioritized
Other related certifications will be considered, including EA, Turkish CPA, and ACCA
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in bookkeeping and accounting
Experience in a CPA firm is a big plus
Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Experience in individual and business taxes is a must
International tax experience is a big plus
Proficient in accounting software with 2 years minimum experience
Fluency in Turkish and English
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced work environment
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations
Management skills or willingness to train to be a manager
Able to manage financial accounting and reporting projects for for-profit and not-for-profit companies
Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Thrives in a collaborative, team-player office environment
Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts of the Authority
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational skills
