About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and evolve the Azure platform used by engineering teams to develop, deploy, and run services
- Design and provision secure, scalable, resilient infrastructure as code using Terraform and Azure-native technologies
- Ensure environments are reproducible, well-governed, production-ready, reliable, secure, performant, and cost-efficient
- Enable delivery teams to self-serve infrastructure and deployments
- Design Azure networking, identity, compute, storage, hosting, certificates, and TLS for resilience, scale, and cost efficiency
- Own reusable Terraform modules, remote state, plan/apply discipline, drift correction, and version-controlled infrastructure changes
- Manage machine configuration and automation using configuration-management tools and production-grade scripting
- Provide environments, templates, modules, and documentation that improve developer self-service
- Own infrastructure and application paths to production, including build, test, release, safe deployment, and rollback
- Manage identity, access control, secrets, network boundaries, least privilege, policy as code, and shared Azure standards
- Use coding agents to produce infrastructure code and scripts and review their changes
- Provide execution environments, sandboxes, tool servers, credential handling, and guardrails for agentic development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep cloud infrastructure engineering on Azure, including virtual networks, subnets, private endpoints, DNS, load balancing, identity, role-based access, app services, containers, Kubernetes, virtual machines, storage and data services, Windows and Linux administration, certificates, and TLS
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform as the primary tool, including module design, remote state, plan and apply discipline, drift detection, and pull request workflows
- Experience with Bicep or ARM for Azure-native work
- Configuration management using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or equivalent
- Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python to production standards
- Container and Kubernetes packaging with Helm or similar
- CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent
- Safe deployment approaches and rollback experience
- Policy as code, least privilege, secrets management, and observability practices
- Knowledge and awareness of agentic engineering and safe use of automated changes with sandboxes, permissions, and credential handling
- Hands-on agentic engineering experience is beneficial rather than required
